Dean Collins and Jewel McGowen were often called the Fred and Ginger of Lindy Hop.  The reason they were so sought-after for films, and by Lindy Hoppers past and present is because they, like no other couple, made it pop.  This 4-week lesson will teach you how to make it pop by giving reviewing fundamental technique, working on movements quality, and learning new moves all with a focus on how these masters made it happen.

Your Instrucors

Abigail Browning

With swivels and and grace that rival Jewel herself, we are luck to have Abigail so close by to teach.  She is a nationally renowned instructor, DJ, and just all-around great person.  we’ve been lucky to have her teach with us a couple of times already and we are really looking forward to having her teach us to dance like Jewel.

When Abigail isn’t teaching, or DJing, she can be found on the dance floor at Hot Club almost every Thursday.  She is well known for being friendly, approachable, and dancing with anyone and everyone.

Adam Speen

Adam is an avid Lindy Hop and Balboa dancer, and international instructor.  Adam has taught for us, with Abigail, several times and also teaches with his regular partner Nelle Cherry.  Adam is an amazing instructor, but will also be seen on the dance floor, rarely sitting out a song.   We are looking forward to having him teach us how to move like Dean.

Prerequisites

A solid foundation in 8-count Lindy Hop patterns.  If you’ve been through both Lindy 1 and 2 at Hot Club you’ll be fine.  If you’re familiar and comfortable with swing-outs, circles, inside outside turn and have a basic understanding of Lindy technique this class is for you.

If you are more advanced and want to learn a new way to move and connect in Lindy Hop, then this Class is for you.

Payment

You can preregister at a discount ($40 for four classes/$32 students) or you can drop in on any of the classes ($12 per class/$10 students).

You’re payment includes admission to the Hot Club dance that night.*

*on February 23 we will be hosting Rent Party and the premier of the Mint Julep Jazz Band.  Admission to this is not included in your class price
